"TripleSweet Trinity"
Foaled: April 18, 2005
| Splendor started to wax and drip around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening (April 17th) alerting us that something was going to happen. It was 2:00 a.m. when we heard through the monitor that Splendor lied down and started breathing heavy. So everyone went to the stall window to see the big debut.....even Flo (the self assigned Nanny). |
|
Around 2:40 a.m. a beautiful filly was delivered and Splendor set to work cleaning her up. THREE fillies in a row for this mare and this third one was marked as special by color to separate her from her two black siblings. She was in no hurry to get up...thought she would live the life of leisure. Splendor was constantly encouraging so she made several attempts to satisfy Mom...but didn't see the need to rush into anything. So after 2 hours we intervened and got her on her feet and positioned for a drink. Did this every hour for three hours till she said "Enough already. I can do it myself!" And with a little buck she took it from there. |
| Stamped by her sire with his trademark crescent, this filly is a looker with the best little curled ears we have seen so far. We look forward to seeing her grow into them. She has a bright and alert eye for a newborn as well. She is very feminine in appearance and is destined to be a very pretty mare. She has a nicely proportioned and compact body which she is already using well. She is showing strength in her legs and joints as she is over her knees and up on her pasterns on only her second day. She has mastered her legs in just 12 hours and darting and kicking like a veteran. |
And this little filly is making friends quickly as you can see.
