TripleSweet Belmont made the journey this year and participated in the prestigious New England Regional. There are those who still consider this show "The National" and we are among them. It being the 70th Anniversary of this show is very important to our breed and history. And the show being dedicated to Anna Ela of Townshend Farm made it all the more important and special to us to have a horse entered this year. The impact of Anna Ela and Townshend on our breed history we feel is immeasurable. And we feel Belmont somehow knew how important this show was this year as he seemed to rise to the occasion and live up to all the pride we have in him. We are extremely grateful to Josh and Megan Merritt for all their time, effort and expertise with this colt. |

TripleSweet Belmont has represented us well in the Yearling Colts division at the Vermont Spring Classic and Connecticut Morgan Horse Shows. He has been presented by Josh and Megan Merritt of Meadowmere Farm, who have done an exceptional job with him. Pride in this quality colt is what motivates us to show him, as we believe he deserves to be seen and belongs in the show ring amongst his peers. He is very well constructed and all natural. We believe in producing intelligent and quality horses designed for longevity. We do not enhance our animals with drugs, chemicals or excessive protein diets in order to stimulate growth and muscle development. These lead to health, growth and soundness problems in the future and ribbons are just not that important to us. So if you are interested in seeing a natural horse of quality or shopping for a "sound" investment for your future showing or pleasure, look for Monty in the Yearling Colts class at the upcoming New England Regional. |

Josh and Megan Merritt of Meadowmere Farm hosted a holiday cookie swap and Christmas cookie making day. Fun was had by all the riders at Meadowmere as they prepared holiday cookie plates for themselves and for local food pantrys and charities. The spirit of giving was certainly alive and we hope all the recipients of the festive cookies enjoyed eating them as much as the kids enjoyed making them. Thanks to Josh and Meg for such a great day and for continuing to set such a good example for today's youth. |

We are proud to have represented the Morgan breed once again at this year's Equine Affaire in Springfield, MA. Each year this event draws over 100,000 people to see, learn and enjoy the world of horses. Each year, the New England Morgan and Vermont Morgan organizations work tirelessly to educate the public and promote the Morgan horse. This year our new colt, TripleSweet Belmont, attended the event and visited with hundreds of admirers. We encourage everyone to attend this event and assist with our breed promotion. And for those that do we say thank you for your efforts, company and all the good times. |

Morgans and riding are not the only things we take pride in and place importance on. In fact, there are many things more important and among them is a good education and a strong set of values. We are thrilled to share that our girls have each been honored with the ideal student award in their graduating classes. Three out of the last 5 years, one of our children has been recognized for this overall academic and personal excellence. We can not thank the teachers and staff of St. Jude's School in Wynantskill, NY enough for their years of committment to their students and our community. We will never forget all that we have received and benefited from by being part of the St. Jude's family. |

We are thrilled to share our latest addition and the future of our homegrown breeding program: Townshend Specticall Many, many thanks to Nancy Caisse and Anna Ela for making this a reality. We have looked for years for just the right horse to represent everything we respect, and expect, in a Morgan Stallion. With his breeding and charisma we knew right away that this colt was what we had been searching for. We look forward to his growth and development and many years of continued pride. This is a VERY exciting time at TripleSweet Farm !!! After many months of dedicated effort, we are proud to anounce the completion and arrival of Ashley Sweet's first written work. At the young age of 11, Ashley embarked on this project and completed it in her following year. The book is titled, "Guardian Angel - Dreams" and the published and bound 183 pages are now available for family, friends, horse lovers and avid readers of all ages. Excerpt: " When it came time for her victory lap, Angel, who was bursting with energy and pride, bolted to the rail at a head spinning park trot. The more she trotted the faster she seemed to go. Angel’s snorts and hoof beats sounded like music; Liz loved it. Then, the crowds seem to fade like morning mist, their cheering went with them. The moon became the sun; the camera flashes became its rays. Liz looked around, bewildered. They were in the field! She sat bareback on Angel; the bridle seemed to be the only “unwild” object around them. " For more information about this book and its availibility please contact us. You can now order this book right now online by clicking here. |

New England and horses always go hand in hand but never more so then in November in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Equine Affaire is without a doubt the biggest equine event and promotion of the year. The sea of horses and out of state plates tells us that this is the place to be for all horse owners, past, present and future. Just watching and listening to the activity in Morgan Row, you couldn’t help but feel good about being there this year. Visitors to the aisle were awestruck by the beauty, ability and personality of the Morgan horse. Experiencing and petting a beautiful horse, or watching their young child do so, is a lasting memory they take home with them from the Equine Affaire. TripleSweet Morgans was proud to be part of this great event this year. And we would like to thank Nancy Caisse, Barbara Irvine, Elsie Rodney, Maura Sweeney and all the support team who worked so hard to make this one of the best promotional events to date. And TripleSweet Trinity would like to thank the thousands of people who stopped by her stall to pet, hug and spend time with her. She picked a beautiful clear starry night and waited for everyone to return home from school and work. Then Bildair's Floravina said all her goodbyes and crossed over to a place where we know she is trotting, head high and eyes bright, till her hearts content. She has been laid to rest here on the farm under the bows of an apple and a white pine and adorned with three colorful autumn mums. She will forever have treats, shade and beauty all around her. She made us smile each and every day and her memories will always continue to do so. Please take a moment to view our tribute page to her by clicking here. |

TripleSweet Trinity made her second appearance in the Morgan world at the New York Morgan show in Syracuse, New York. What a wonderful weekend of Morgan babies. A very impressive crowd of 14 foals competed in the New York Breeder's Sweepstakes. We were not only glad to see Ivan Beattie back in the competition ring, but we were thrilled as he showed his filly, Equinox Charlies Angel (by Equinox Challenge) to the Sweepstakes Championship. The next day brought 23 foals out of the woodwork for the coveted NY Morgan Weanling Futurity competition. We were very proud to have Trinity recognized in this great class and pinned sixth in the filly division. Again...another great accomplishment for this filly who performed on very little sleep after arriving on the grounds the night before. And the "Challenge" celebration continued as once again, Equinox Charlies Angel won the filly division, and bested all comers to receive the NY Morgan Weanling Futurity Grand Championship. Congrats to all the fine entries and exhibitors. Thanks for making this such an exciting and meaningful competition. Hats off to Ivan and Challenge.......for two of many jobs well done last breeding season!! |

TripleSweet Morgans participated in this year's "Celebrate" the Morgan Promotion held at Sebring Stables in Richmond, Massachusetts. It was a fantastic day of Morgan demonstrations of every type and discipline. Visitors couldn't help but leave with a great impression of America's best breed and all the people involved in it. The weather, horses, and people were all perfect and made this day a great success. We are working to get the photos posted for all to see which could take some time. But a small sample is ready for viewing and check back later to see others. Click here to see the pictures. |

TripleSweet Morgans spent the Labor Day weekend in Essex Junction, Vermont at the Champlain Valley Fair. This was the site of this year's Vermont Morgan Weanling Futurity. We are proud to announce that TripleSweet Trinity was pinned 4th in this VERY competitive class. We would like to congratulate all the participants who brought out some beautiful foals this year. Its always nice to be judged in such fine company. At just 4 1/2 months of age, this was Trinity's first adventure off the farm, and alone, and she handled it like a champ. It was a very long ride for her and a long night in a strange barn. These two things certainly took the wind from her sails and we regret that everyone did not get to see her at her best. But she did make a lot of friends while walking the grounds and she allowed all the visitors and youngsters there to pet and enjoy her. She also showed us her intelligence and willingness by climbing aboard the trailer ..... TWICE....with no hesitation and with no prior practice. So we have a lot to be proud of with her in addition to the ribbon and placing. |

For those who expressed interest in purchasing this upcoming foal, we thank you for your time, inquiries and great conversations. We look forward to performing this breeding again in the spring since we feel it will produce an excellent and talented horse. For those with the patience and ability to wait an additional year, we will keep you informed of our breeding progress. It was a thrill to have him come. This year's New England Morgan Horse Show had the distinct honor of being the venue for the retirement celebration of Born To Boogie. This MANY time Grand National and World Champion Stallion will surely be missed in the show ring in the years ahead. His Grand presence In-Hand and Brilliance in Harness has set a standard over the years for all breeders and trainers to aspire to. He has represented the Morgan breed better than any horse in a long time. And this was never more obvious, than at this New England party in his honor. Born To Boogie wowed the crowd with his last public harness appearance. And then he was everyone's best friend, soaking up the attention, praise and carrots from the crowd in the infield. Always a gentleman. And always a star. Born To Boogie. |

TripleSweet Morgans had a great 4th of July weekend as we spent it at the Vermont Morgan Heritage Days in Tunbridge, Vermont. It started off great on Friday night as our filly, TripleSweet Intennsity, was shown in hand and pinned Reserve Champion Yearling in the Vermont State Morgan Futurity. This was a great accomplishment that we are very proud of since we consider the Vermont Morgans and stallions to be the breed standard to which we compare ourselves and strive to emulate in many of our breeding decisions. To be honored this way on Friday in a class of quality horses was a very proud moment. Pictures of Intennsity from this class will be posted to the website soon. And many great and happy moments were experienced on Saturday as Shazam's Midnight Madness made her saddle debut on her 6th birthday weekend. This was no holiday and there was no breakfast in bed for this mare as we put her through her paces. She was entered in and exposed to as much as we felt she could handle....and then some. She started off by impressing everyone in her first saddle classes by carrying 4 different riders to ribbons in various equitation classes as a hunter AND as a saddleseat mount. When all was said and done she helped earn her riders a 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th in full and competitive classes. It was a great start for this little black mare and we expect her to do even better with more time and experience. We would like to thank Cheryl Reed, Anne Brown, Nancy Harvey and all the folks who worked so hard to make this show so enjoyable and such a success. |

Two members of the Berkshire Morgan Youth Group were recently recognized for academic excellence. Nicole - Class Valedictorian receiving the Principal's Award for highest class average of 99.142. Ashley - Recipient of the "Ideal Student" Award which is voted upon by the entire school staff each year. We are VERY proud of both these girls and their entire class for all they achieved and the example and standards they set. |

TripleSweet Morgans, in coordination with Fred Nava, is proud to sponsor the band Sirsy to perform live at this year's New England Regional. The band is currently scheduled to appear at 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 24th as part of the New England Youth Celebration. This is a VERY talented pop rock band fronted by an INCREDIBLE female vocalist. Sirsy is one of New England's top local bands and up and coming stars. They currently tour from Maine to South Carolina and can be heard on many radio stations across New England. With fans from ages 5 to 85, this is a must see concert for everyone at the Regional show. We thought it was time to schedule more social and special attractions for the enjoyment of the younger participants on the show grounds and this band enables us to do that while still being geared for all ages. With this band's ever growing popularity and music industry attention we may not be able to do this again, so don't miss this concert event. For more information on this band please contact Ed Sweet or visit the Sirsy website by clicking here. |

Each year the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame sponsors an art contest for schools in Upstate New York. This contest is appropriately called, "Horsing Around With the Arts". The contest is divided into two divisions for grades 3 thru 7 and 8 thru 12. It is a juried show and competition and due to the volume of entries received, not all artwork makes the cut to be on display and to particiapte in the competition. Having 3 creative daughters who are "horse crazy" .....this event is right up their alley. We have been honored each of the past two years to have our daughters artwork accepted for the competition. And after the judging is over and the winners announced, we have just felt blessed that our children have the skills to create something that gets recognized by the judges as worthy to particiapte. This year was Ashley's third time participating, Cierra's second and Taylor's first. And the power of the number 3 came into play this year. We were astounded and overjoyed as all three won awards this year for their efforts!!! Ashley won first prize for Grade 6. Cierra won first prize for Grade 4. Taylor won 3rd prize for Grade 3. We are very proud of all of them and as always, we thank their school art teacher, Ms. Diona Chapko, for all the support and direction she has provided our children over the years. You can see them below with their artwork and here is a link to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. If you like horses and/or horse racing, I recommend visiting this great museum. |
