"Many people have sighed for the 'good old days' and regretted the  'passing of the horse,'  but today,
when only those who like horses own them, it is a far better time for horses."  ~C.W. Anderson.

We take pride in producing quality horses of type which are happy at home, on the trail, and in the show ring.

INTRO HOME HISTORY ABOUT US HORSES OFFERING NEWS FUTURE CONTACTS

Meyer Sweet Splendor

(Wales Farm Lucky Boy x Meylita)

Mare.  Foaled June 1985
Black with left rear white coronet. 15.2 hands.

"Splendor" has been with this family since her birth.  This mare is a smaller version of her dam which is to say she is just wonderful to be around.  We never have to worry about her no matter who we put on her.  She takes care of everyone and will give you as much ride as you ask for as long as she thinks you can handle it.  She is extremely smart and kind....a wonderful combination.  She has the responsibility now to teach our girls to ride.  And though started late in life in the breeding shed, she has produced lovely black fillies in her image by Hillfield Nightrider and UVM Tennyson, which you can see elsewhere on this site.   She just gave us a wonderful chestnut filly by Equinox Challenge. TripleSweet Silhouette

(Hillfield Nightrider x MeyerSweet Splendor)

Mare.  Foaled June 2002.  Black.  15.1 hands

"Shila" (Shy-la) was the first planned foaling here when the breeding program resumed. Judy Cherry's stallion "Rider" was specificly chosen for this cross because of his breeding, intelligence, temperment and beauty. The desired outcome was a pretty and intelligent horse.  This mare brightens the barn with her eye, good looks and personality. She is the product of a long line of athletes and World Champions and she knows it!!

TripleSweet Intennsity

(UVM Tennyson x Meyer Sweet Splendor)

Filly .  Foaled April 2004.
Black with left rear white pastern/fetlock.

There are a lot of threes floating around this filly.  "Tess" is only  the 3rd registered black foal sired by UVM Tennyson.  She placed 3rd as a weanling in the very competitive Vermont State Morgan Futurity in 2004.  (And when a little more grown and more mature,  she was pinned Reserve Champion Yearling in the Vermont State Morgan Futurity in 2005 and was again pinned 3rd in 2006)  She has a strong hip and nice length of neck.  She is VERY pretty and EXTREMELY intelligent.

She is kind of a "Dejavu" baby for us.  She is black with one white left hind (leaving 3 black feet) just like her dam.  And she placed 3rd in her debut show just like her dam.  (Though the competition was far greater for this filly than her dam) So there are a lot of signs being given here which are predictions for us of what is to come for her.

TripleSweet Trinity

(Equinox Challenge x Meyer Sweet Splendor)

Filly .  Foaled April 2005.  Chestnut (turning dark) with small star

"Two straight lines cannot possibly enclose any space, or form a plane figure.  Three, therefore, stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete, and entire."

"The symbol of a triad or trinity is a symbol of the unity of body, mind and spirit.  "

When this girl was born and we began to see what she was all about we knew we had to have a special name to capture all that she is and will be.  So "Trinity" was chosen since she represents the mind, body and spirit of what we breed for.  We crossed to Challenge in hopes (as always) to get a filly so we would have a future broodmare carrying the equinox blood of Courage and Benn Adam.  This filly has very nice confirmation, a wonderful mind, great ears and a very pretty eye.  And being a morgan....she knows all this and flaunts it whenever possible.

Shazam's Midnight Madness

(Shazam x Rimlo Black Echo)

Mare. Foaled July 1999. Black. 14.1 hands.

"Midnight" joined our family in 2002.  Coming from a problematic environment she carried some mental baggage and a filly by her side.  Her eye had a long sad story to tell, but along with it she revealed a real tenderness hidden inside.  She has been on the slow and steady path here and has learned to trust and be happy again.  She is going well under saddle and is developing into a real nice hunter gait and frame.  As long as she knows what is being asked, and given the time to understand, she is always up for the next lesson.  This mare loves to work and is happiest when getting attention and being ridden.

Medomak Happy Hour

(H-Vee Pizazz x Big Bend Happy Time)

Mare. Foaled May 1987. Dark Chestnut 14.3 hands.

"Happy" is a VERY special mare.  We are quite honored to be her new owners and caretakers.  We can not express enough thanks to Katrina Crie for choosing the TripleSweet farm as Happy's new home.  Happy possesses the epitome of a Morgan mare head.  She has that Morgan "Look at Me" attitude and exhibits incredible physical ability.  After a decade of training with Katrina, this mare comes to us with an impressive show record, an arsenal of training in different disciplines, and a proven broodmare with great offspring such as the impressive stallion:  Deer Park Graphic Design.

Here at TripleSweet she has teamed with Cierra to soon be a very competitve pair in the Morgan hunter division.  Look for more of this mare's life story to unfold here in the near future.

TripleSweet Neon Flight

(Equinox Bossanova x Medomak Happy Hour)

Colt.  Foaled April 2009.  Dark Chestnut, white blaze, two rear socks and high white on front leg.

The product of two exceptional horses in our breed.

He combines the beauty and athleticism of a wealth of treasured blood.  He is all show horse and filled with enthusiasm.  He has the mind  and eye of his dam which will take him a very long way.  We could not be happier with the results of this breeding.

Equinox Portia

(Nemours Port Royal x Equinox Marissa)

Mare.  Foaled April 2001.  Brown white snip. 14.2 hands.

"Portia" has traveled many miles in her years and been in the hands of some wonderful Morgan people.  Everyone who has had the "Portia experience" has glowing things to say about her.  So she has crossed the country once again, back to her roots in New England, where we hope to continue what everyone has started with this mare and provide the environment where she can fulfill her destiny.  This mare is all heart in a very attractive package.  She has an eye that draws you in and talks to you on a level rarely experienced.  She is an up and coming athlete and already proven herself in the breeding shed by giving us an OUTSTANDING colt which can be seen below.

TripleSweet Belmont

(Pondview Tres Bien x Equinox Portia)

Colt.  Foaled May 2008.  Bay, Star, Snip, two rear white fetlocks.

This is a WORLD CLASS horse!!
We breed for type, mind, conformation and beauty and this colt exceeds all of our standards.  We do not attempt to breed show horses but this horse is one.  And in our opinion that is how they should be made.  Focus on quality breeding and product and genetics and blood will deliver a true show horse.  This horse needs to be seen to appreciate as his beauty is stunning.  He is kind and intelligent and destined to be center stage in his future. He is bred to breed on with a rare mix of blood which will offer a quality alternative to todays extremely limited show blood. Inquiries invited on this exceptional colt.

More photos of "Monty" can be seen our news page.

Townshend Specticall

(Call To Order x Townshend Holly Bell)

Stallion.  Chestnut, Blaze.

Our search for a stallion has been a long and patient process.  But "George" is proof that patience pays off.  This horse  possesses the body and mind we have been looking for in a stallion.  His blood carries the history one has to respect.  We look forward to many years of enjoyment with this horse who at 3 years of age is riding and driving with ease.  A testiment to the always versatile and willing breeding of Townshend Farm.

More photos and info are available on our future page.
